NYX lipstick haul

I recently went to Ulta to take part in the buy one get one 1/2 off on their NYX products. I picked up some lipstick and just wanted to share. Never be afraid of color.....the thing I love about Ulta is if you are not satisfied with a product, you can return it.

I find that NYX lipsticks are super moisturizing for my lips. They do not hold up if you are looking for long wear though. But I have noticed that when I exfoliate my lips with brown sugar and honey, I can get more wear out of it. When it does fade it still leave behind a stain. It's great starting point for those who are not used to wearing lipstick, they only cost $3.99. The promotion is still going on right now, so if you want to add a lil punch of color to your look...give it a try.

Coffee Break~ Fro'ccesories

I am still in my twa stage. I got tired of the boring twist outs and braid outs. So, I bought some accessories that I have affectionately named fro'ccesories. I will be back soon with pics of how I use them. So, what do you use to jazz up your hair when you feel like you're in a rut?

Sorry for this brief interruption

I know I have been neglecting my blog and I owe you an apology. I have been busy with work and school and just haven't found the time to write. But I promise I will be back. Until then be blessed.

The Sahara Desert on my head

Ughhh, Dry hair!!! WHY ME?
Dry hair lacks moisture and presents a problem for most naturals. Since becoming natural I have noticed that I have to do more to keep my hair moisturized. Here are some of the things that I have been doing to help retain/lock-in moisture.
- Co-wash, co-wash, co-wash
Co-washing is the process of washing your hair with conditioner alone, the shampooing step is skipped. Removing the shampooing step keeps the sulfates that are in most shampoos from stripping your hair and scalp of its natural oils.

The morning after....

It's more like a week. I wanted my t.w.a* to "grow on me" to learn it's ins and outs before I posted anything. If I say so myself I'm liking it. It is different and definitely something to get used to. I can't keep my hands out of it...exploring my curl pattern and loving what God gave me. So, this morning after is not one of regret. It's one of acceptance and I gladly embrace it.

Alice in Wonderland

On February 5th, I took the big  jump down the rabbit hole w/o looking back. My big chop was not the liberating experience as everyone says it would. I didn't have any emotional sense of clarity.  As I looked down at the pile of hair that I just lopped off all I could think was ....ughh, it's just hair. I couldn't help but wonder, why didn't I experience that ahah moment that most women (at least on youtube) have? All I know is whatever is on the other end of that rabbit hole, will definitely be an interesting journey.
